Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill is one of Nepal’s most beautiful trekking adventures, combining rich cultural heritage, traditional Gurung and Magar villages, rhododendron forests, panoramic Himalayan scenery, and the breathtaking Annapurna Sanctuary. The journey begins with a guided sightseeing tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu before driving to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The trek passes through Ulleri, Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Tadapani, Chhomrong, Himalaya, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and finally reaches Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks including Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). The trek also offers a relaxing natural hot spring experience at Jhinu Danda before returning to Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by the representative of Mother Land Nepal Trekking and transferred to your hotel. Full Day UNESCO World Heritage Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu

After breakfast, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley’s famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Kathmandu Durbar Square Pashupatinath Temple Boudhanath Stupa Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) Patan Durbar Square These ancient monuments reflect Nepal’s rich history, culture, architecture, and spiritual traditions. Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Early morning scenic drive to Pokhara by tourist bus following the Trishuli and Marsyangdi Rivers with beautiful mountain and countryside views. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. In the evening enjoy boating on the beautiful Phewa Lake with reflections of Mt. Machhapuchhre. Accommodation: Hotel Meal: Breakfast Driving Duration: 6–7 Hours Transportation: Tourist Bus

Drive to Tikhedhunga (1,540m) and Trek to Ulleri (1,950m)

After breakfast, drive to Tikhedhunga via Nayapul and Birethanti. Begin trekking through terraced farmlands and local villages. The trail includes the famous stone staircase leading to Ulleri village. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (B.L.D.) Driving Duration: 2 Hours Trekking Duration: 2–3 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 6 km

Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,850m)

The trail ascends gradually through dense rhododendron and oak forests with occasional mountain views. Passing Banthanti and Nangethanti villages, arrive at the beautiful mountain settlement of Ghorepani. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: B.L.D. Trekking Duration: 5–6 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 10 km

Hike to Poon Hill (3,193m) and Trek to Tadapani (2,590m)

Early morning hike to Poon Hill for spectacular sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges. Enjoy panoramic views of more than 16 Himalayan peaks. After breakfast at the lodge, continue trekking through forests and ridges to Tadapani. Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong (1,890m)

Descend through forest trails and cross suspension bridges before ascending to the beautiful Gurung village of Chhomrong, the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: B.L.D. Trekking Duration: 5–6 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 10 km

Trek from Chhomrong to Himalaya (2,930m)

The trail descends to Chhomrong Khola and climbs through bamboo and rhododendron forests passing Sinuwa, Bamboo, and Dovan before reaching Himalaya. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: B.L.D. Trekking Duration: 6–7 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 11 km

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m)

Today is the highlight of the trek. Continue ascending through Hinku Cave, Deurali, and Machhapuchhre Base Camp before reaching Annapurna Base Camp. Enjoy incredible 360-degree Himalayan views within the Annapurna Sanctuary. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: B.L.D. Trekking Duration: 6–7 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 13 km

Sunrise at Annapurna Base Camp and Trek to Bamboo

Wake up early for breathtaking sunrise views over Annapurna I (8,091m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Baraha Shikhar (7,647m), Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (6,993m). After breakfast, descend through MBC, Deurali, Himalaya, and Dovan to Bamboo. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: B.L.D. Trekking Duration: 6–7 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 15 km

Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,780m)

Trek through Sinuwa and Chhomrong before descending to Jhinu Danda. In the afternoon enjoy the natural hot spring beside the Modi Khola River. Accommodation: Guest House Meals: B.L.D. Trekking Duration: 5–6 Hours Walking Distance: Approx. 11 km

Drive to Pokhara and Explore Pokhara City

After breakfast, short trek and drive back to Pokhara. Free time to explore Lakeside area, cafes, shops, and relax by Phewa Lake. Optional Activities: Boating Paragliding Massage & Spa Mountain Museum Visit Accommodation: Hotel Meal: Breakfast Driving Duration: 3–4 Hours

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu – 6 to 7 Hours
